E-Pao Tengbang Lup honours Poknapham's Mission Oinam

Imphal, July 09 2025: In recognition of the tireless efforts and sacrifices made by media persons of the state, E-Pao Tengbang Lup Manipur presented its first E-Pao Special Journalist Award-2025' to Poknapham staff reporter Mission Oinam and seven others during its 8th Foundation Day celebration held at Yaipha Lamjing Kanglup community hall, Chingarel Tejpur on Wednesday.

The seven other journalists who received the award were Imphal TV News staff reporter Elangbam Mushuk Meetei and cameraman Leimapokpam Kabichandra Meetei, ISTV News staff reporters Ninthoukhongjam Sanajaoba Meetei and Michaeljit Yumnam, The Sangai Express staff reporter Moirangtham Khagemba Meetei, Sanaleibak staff reporter Robinson Wahengbam and Elite TV's Sana Hemam.

Presided over E-Pao Tengbang Lup president RC Khuman, the function was attended by Khundrakpam MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar Singh as chief guest, while Sana Konung 'Angom Ningthou' Angom Poreiton, E-Pao Tengbang Lup advisor Okendro Athokpam, convenor Th Sunil Deva Singh, AMWJU president Asem Bhakta Singh, MUC Umanglai Haraoba Department head assistant professor Dr Nganbi Chanu, Saraswati Institute of Management and Para-medical Sciences chairman Plus Phijam, St Stephen's Higher Secondary School, Hiyangthang School Management Committee secretary Pukhrambam Inaobi and national awardee Sanjenbam Inaobi Meitei were guests of honour.

In his speech, MLA Lokeshwar contended that the people of Manipur are suffering due to mis-governance by the BJP regime.

Stating that the opposition MLAs are also experiencing a situation of getting ritual purification or atonement (prayaschitta) by standing too close to a dead cow, the Congress MLA opined that had the government done its job properly and took pre-emptive measures, the conflict situation would not have aggravated as it is today.

He also raised suspicion on why the resettlement of IDPs did not mention those displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur, adding that there is a need to look into the matter.

As part of the function, 58 persons who donated blood during a camp organised by E-Pao Tengbang Lup were honoured.

Nine students (Class X & XII) who topped in Thang-Ta, Music and MIL subjects were also presented with simple gifts as encouragement.
