Transport Dept urges public to use online services

Imphal, March 08 2025:
The transport department has notified the implementation of 31 online faceless services in Vahan & Sarathi for availing vehicle and driving licence-related services to provide easy access to transport services without requiring the public to physically visit transport offices.
A notification issued in this regard by the director informed that the department has strictly prohibited and banned the involvement of third-party representatives or middlemen, including petition writers, in all transport offices.
Citizens who notice such practices are encouraged to report them to the director (transport), via email at dir.transport-mn@gov.
in.
The director also urged the public to avoid using middlemen and instead utilise the online faceless services by registering and logging on to www.parivahan.gov.in.
To avail the online services, users must have a valid e-mail ID and mobile number, a valid Aadhaar number linked with a mobile number, and vehicle details such as chassis number and OTP verification.
Additionally, users must ensure they have valid payment modes like internet banking, debit, or credit card for making online payments.
The 31 online services include driving licence-related services such as change of address and name in learner and driving licences, issuance of duplicate learner and driving licences, renewal of driving licences, replacement of licences, international driving permits, and surrender of class of vehicle from licences.
Vehicle-related services include transfer of ownership in normal and special cases, duplicate registration certificates, change of address in RC, hypothecation addition or termination, no objection certificates, and mobile number updation through Aad-haar-based verification.
Permit-related services include the issuance and renewal of fresh permits, duplicate permits, permit surrender, transfer of permits in normal and death cases, special and temporary permits, and permit non-use intimation, the notification said.
