Imphal, October 06 2025:
In a continued demonstration of its commitment to the welfare of Manipur, the Assam Rifles, will organise a free Medical Camp on October 7, 2025 at Presidency College, Motbung, in Kangpokpi District.
The initiative aims to address the immediate healthcare needs of the local population by providing free medical consultations, essential medicines, and basic health check-ups.
According to a release from the IGAR (South), since the onset of unrest in Manipur, Kangpokpi district has been facing a severe shortage of medical services.
Healthcare infrastructure in remote and conflict-affected areas remains critically inadequate, leaving many residents without access to basic or specialized medical care.
The medical camp is being organised in close collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has sent a team of 23 medical specialists from Maharashtra to support the initiative.
These doctors drawn from Nashik, Mumbai and Pune specialise in Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Medicine and Primary Healthcare.
The team, fully equipped with essential medicines and diagnostic tools, arrived in Imphal on October 4, 2025 .
Every effort is being made to ensure that patients receive personalised care and professional medical attention, reflecting the humanitarian spirit of the initiative.
This effort reaffirms the Assam Rifles' role as the "Sentinels of the North East", going beyond the call of duty to serve the people with compassion, dedication, and empathy.
