The Jananeta Irawat Charitable Trust (JICT) has organized World Environment Day (WED) at the Eco Green Park of Ishikha Yumnam Patlou on June 05 last.
The Chairman of JICT, Laishram Sotinkumar, State Secretary of Forward Block Manipur, Khomdram Gyaneshwar, State Secretary of CPI-M, Sarat Salam, Vice President of JICT, Md Qureshi, N Kesho Meetei and Secretary of Irawat Charitable Trust, Kshetrimayum Shanta staged at the function as presidium members while Dr Bijayanti took part as resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, L Sotinkumar expressed that the Eco Club which was established at the Eco Park has targeted to plant one lakh of plants with each member of the club taking responsibility for full growth of five plants each and also said that various campaigns including Padyatra, awareness campaign, seminar, symposium and painting competition will be held within October 09.He further expressed that it is necessary for us all to understand the necessity to preserve and promote the natural vegetation by constructing forests and green parks in order to save the human race from extinction.
The surrounding people of model village Ishikha along with the volunteers of JICT and farmers planted various plants and various seeds were also distributed to the farmers on the occasion stated a press release issued by the Convener of JICT, Iboyaima.
