PRO IGAR (S) compiles arrest, arms recovery report

Imphal, August 04 2025:
PRO IGAR (S) has compiled reports on apprehension of insurgent cadres and seizures of arms and ammunition by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles formations under Spear Corps and police during intelligence-based search operations conducted in Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Thoubal, Imphal West and Imphal East districts from July 27 till August 4 .
Assam Rifles and Thoubal police commandos launched a joint operation in Tentha, and apprehended one KYKL (SOREPA) cadre on July 27 and a cadre of Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) from at Singjamei, Imphal West.
On July 28, the arrest included a cadre of the Pambei-led UNLF along with one 0.32 pistol with magazine, three rounds, and a mobile handset; recovery of four Country-made Pompi guns, one Modified Heavy Mortar, seven IEDs, a Modified Lathode Gun Type, one .22 Single Barrel Gun and other war-like stores from the jungle area of Nobap near Chanbirok, Imphal West district.
On July 30 search conducted in Dampi Ridge area led to recovery of 13 single-barrel guns, one pistol, one Pompi (country-made weapon), nine IEDs, one 9mm round, eight Pompi rounds, 24 cartridges of 12-gauge,ammunition, 10 live and three blank .303 rounds, two Baofeng radio sets and three helmets; three single-barrel guns, one Pompi, four live tear smoke grenades, four live 12-bore cartridges, four Pompi bombs, one 7.62 mm round and two fired 5.56 mm cases from forested areas near Tollen and K Kotlen in Churachandpur district; one AK-47 rifle with magazine, one single-barrel shotgun, three Pompi, one Pompi empty shell, three electronic detonators, eight 12-bore rounds, one IED cap, two Baofeng radio sets, four anklets, two ammunition pouches, three helmets, one harness, and one scale in the hillside area north of K Geljang, Churachandpur district.
On July 31, search operation by Indian Army and Bishnupur police led to rounding up of self-styled army chief of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) with one POCO M4 Pro mobile phone and a Jio SIM .
A joint operation on July 29 in Songpi village, Churachandpur district led to recovery of four 9 mm pistols, six single-barrel rifles, one M79 grenade launcher and a .22 rifle along with magazine; apprehension of two cadres of KCP (MFL) from Nongada Thonkong, Imphal East with a 9mm pistol, two phones, Rs 5,200, an Aadhaar card, and a SIM card.
On July 30, a PREPAK (Progressive) cadre was arrested from Phayeng, Imphal West along with recovery of a mobile phone & Aadhaar Card; a KCP (PWG) cadre from Heingang-Kairang area; and two cadres of PLA/RPF from Ngaikhong Khunou, Bishnupur district along with two mobile phones and a Maruti 800 car; and apprehension of two KYKL cadres from Salungpham Bazar in Thoubal district along with recovery of a 9mm Pistol, No 36 Hand Grenade, three rounds, two phones & Rs 5,000 .
On August 2, two cadres of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) were arrested from Heirok, Thoubal district, and recovered one 9mm pistol, one .32 pistol, six rounds of mixed ammunition, three mobile phones, one Aadhaar card, and one Hero Maestro scooter.
As per the PRO, search operation conducted in Kongba Maru area on July 26 resulted in recovery of two looted INSAS rifles, one SLR (looted), and other firearms, and arrest of a KCP (MFL) cadre identified as Yumnam Koko, from Ishingthembi village, Imphal East on July 27 .
Series of operations con ducted on July 28 and 30 also led to recovery of one AK-47, one .303 Rifle, eight SBBL, five Pumpis, one Improvised Projectile Launcher, IED Cap, Detonators, Radio Sets, Bulletproof Gear from Bijang, Songphejang (Kangpokpi) and K Geljang, Thangjing Ridge (Churachandpur); three SB-BLs, one .303, and one Improvised launcher with rounds from Songpehjang area.
On August 1, a PREPAK cadre named Lisham Sanayamba Singh alias SS Lt Thangjinglamba, was apprehended from Uyumpok Mamang Leikai (Imphal East) by in a joint operation, said the PRO, adding that the coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their steely resolve and unwavering commitment towards peace and security in the region.
