Voters in six Bishnupur ACs favour BJP

Bishnupur, June 04 2024: Counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 in respect of Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency covering six assembly constituencies in Bishnupur district namely Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi was conducted at the Indoor Hall of New Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur from 8 am onwards on Tuesday.

The counting in respect of Nambol and Moirang ACs extended to seven rounds, Oinam and Bishnupur ACs lasted six rounds, and Thanga AC four while Kumbi AC witnessed five rounds.

After the final count, Th Basantakumar (BJP) received 60,229 votes, followed by Angomcha Bimol Akoijam (INC) polling 58,212 votes, Maheshwar Thounaojam (RPI) securing 23,267 votes, independent M Totomshana Nongshaba was favoured by 872 voters, independent RK Somorendro alias Kaiku culled 2654 votes and independent Haorungbam Sarat received 242 votes, while 642 voter opted for the NOTA button.
