Weapons recovered as search operations continue

Imphal, July 02 2024: Security forces conducted search operations and recovered arms and ammunition from different parts of the state.

According to police re ports, a combined team of Kakching district police commando, BSF and Waikhong police station including female personnel conducted search operation from 6.50 am to 7.50 am in Langmeidong Laimanai area on Tuesday leading to recovery of an AK-56 with magazine, a walkie-talkie set, two Chinese hand grenades, one tube launching 1A, four blank cartridges, two bullet proof vests and 12 detonators from Laimanai Laimaton Ching.

Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal East district commando, Irilbung police and CRPF conducted search operation in Naharup Pangong area from 5.30 am to 6.50 am and searched 60 houses while Thoubal district commando, Lilong police and BSF jointly conducted search operation in Lilong Chingkham area from 4 am to 6.20 am covering 70 houses.

Similarly, a combined team of Bishnupur district commando, BSF and Kumbi police conducted search operation from 6 am to 8 am.

In all, 250 houses were searched and 470 people verified during the operation, but there is no report of any arrest made.

Moreover, a combined team of Imphal West district police and BSF conducted search operation in Tendonyang from 7 am to 8.30 am, and searched 200 houses and verified 650 individuals.
