Goonj, Sunbird Trust extend aid to displaced victims of Jiribam

Jiribam, July 30 2024:
In a heartwarming display of extending humanitarian aid to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Jiribam district taking refuge at various relief camps, non profit organisations namely Goonj based in Delhi and Sunbird Trust based in Bengaluru donated essential and reliefmaterials to the IDPs.
To handover the donated relief materials, a team led by Deputy Commissioner Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS visited the relief camps today.
The DC was accompanied by Jiribam Municipal Council EO Moirangthem Surjit Singh; Sponsorship and Community Development Coordinator Sunbird Trust Khuraijam Banty Singh and Goonj Delhi team member Mrinal Dutta.
Speaking at the occasion, DC Krishna Kumar, LAS extended to both the organizations for providing the relief materials amid this challenging phase.
He also stated around 700 displaced victims are taking refuge in eight relief camps across the district.
The donated relief materials include medicines, wheelchairs, woolen clothes, feeding bottles, sanitary pads, shoes, carpets, blankets, towels, bedsheets, diapers, feeding bottles, suitcases etc.
