Kangpokpi, August 26 2026: Prof Ng Iboyaima Singh, Prof Ng Joykumar Singh and Dr Ng Taibangnganbi Chanu of the College of Food Technology, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, were feted by the Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur, at Mapao Zingsho Bamboo Park Kangpokpi district today.

The individuals were feted in recognition of their pioneering achievements in advancing bamboo-wine technology, said AIMS.

During the programme, Dr Ng Taibangnganbi Chanu described the process of making bamboo-shoot wine.

She said the project was taken up with the assistance of the North East Cane and Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC), Guwahati.

Dr S Manikanta Singh, retired Additional Director of Health Services, M Khelendro, president, AIMS and Mung Mingthing, headman of Louphong Village Authority attended the event.
