Chandel, September 24 2026: A district Kisan Mela/Agriculture Fair 2026-27 was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Mini Secretariat in Chandel The fair was organised by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in collaboration with the District Agricultural Officer (DAO), Chandel.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel said the Horticulture and Agriculture Departments of the district have the technology and the expertise to help farmers in their cultivation.

She appealed to the farmers to adopt natural farming free from chemical fertilizers.

Stating that the departments have various schemes to benefit the farmers she called on the farmers to approach the departments if they need any help with technology or expertise as the people in the department are well-trained in their fields.

As part of the mela, agriculture and farming related inputs and materials were also distributed by the Deputy Commissioner.

This includes Pump sets, sprayers (manual); battery, pulses etc.

The DC also inspected the stalls opened at the mela and interacted with the farmers and concerned persons.

Moreover, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, 2026, marking 25 years of public service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also observed.
