Tall structures, trees under Airport security lens

Imphal, June 24 2025:
Imphal West district administration has mandated a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for height clearance of all buildings and structures, especially those falling within the Red Zone of the Colour Coded Zoning Map (CCZM) of the Imphal International Airport and generally for all structures within a 56-km radius around the Airport Aerodrome Reference Point (ARP) .
In a notification, the district administration said that the move is in compliance with the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024 (the Indian Aircraft Act, 2024), the Aircraft (Demolition of obstructions caused by Building and Trees etc.) Rules, 1994, the Ministry of Civil Aviation's notification on "Height Restrictions for Safeguarding of Aircraft Operations" - MOCA GSR 751(E) dated 30th September, 2015 and the DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has implement ed an online system called "No Objection Certificate Application System" (NOCAS) for processing height clearance for buildings and structures around civil airports.
The system can be accessed via the AAI website www.aai.aero or directly through https://nocas2.aai.aero.The portal also provides an Interactive Map showing the permissible limits of building heights.
The district administration warned that any violation regarding the height of buildings, structures, trees or land within the notified limits, or any non-compliance with the aforementioned provisions, shall be dealt with under the Aircraft (Demolition of obstructions caused by Buildingand Trees etc.) Rules, 1994 .
