Assam Rifles organises educational tour and weapon display for students at Pallel

The Assam Rifles organised an educational and awareness tour, along with a weapon display programme, at Pallel Garrison in Kakching district on Tuesday to engage students and motivate them towards public service and careers in uniformed services.
The programme, organised on the initiative of Lieutenant General K Himalay Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retired), Chairman of the Senkon Institute (Navodaya and Sainik), was attended by 229 students and 11 teachers from Charangpat in Thoubal district.
According to IGAR (South), the visit provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about the operational roles, capabilities and national security responsibilities of the security forces.
The main attraction of the programme was a weapon and equipment display, where Assam Rifles personnel showcased various modem weapons and equipment used for operational and security duties.
The students and teachers were briefed about the technical features, operational uses and safety measures related to the equipment.
The visiting students also toured the community radio station, CRS Radio Highway, where they learned about the role of community radio in public outreach, awareness generation and information dissemination.
The educational tour concluded with a visit to the Cultural Hall at Pallel Garrison, where the students were introduced to the cultural heritage, traditions and history of the region The interactive programme enabled the students to interact with Assam Rifles personnel and understand the discipline, professionalism and dedication required in military service.
The initiative also encouraged the younger generation to explore careers in the armed forces and other uniformed services.
