Imphal, June 23 2024:
While asserting that there must be a hidden agenda behind deployment of unprecedentedly large number of central forces in the state, Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) said the Government of India is trying to completely destroy federalism between India and Manipur and scheming break apart Manipur.
According to a statement of MIYC, large numbers of central security forces have been deployed in many places of Manipur since the past few days.
The state government linked deployment of huge central forces to minor incidents like extortions and kidnapping but people do not believe in the government's narrative.
The MIYC statement issued by coordinator T Parijat Singh further said that Manipur government did not intentionally invited huge forces but sent to the state by the government of India forcibly.
People see deployment of huge central forces as Government of India's attempt to break apart Manipur by siding with the Kukis just like the division of Jammu & Kashmir in 2019 .
Prior to passage of the Bill in Parliament to divide Jammu & Kashmir, huge numbers of Indian armed forces were deployed in the northern state from August 5, 2019 and removed Article 370 after imposing President's Rule.
It is well known among the public that government of India is waging a proxy war in Manipur by siding with the Kukis.
This suspicion has also been elucidated with NSCN-IM's disclosure that Indian security forces are providing arms training including bomb making to Kuki militants in Phayang village bordering Kamjong district.
Apart from this, India is openly extending support to PDF in the current turmoil in Myanmar (Burma) while the USA too is backing the Kukis to carve out a Christian country from parts of Myanmar, Bangladesh and India.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had even made a statement in this regard and her statement said that India is protecting the Kukis even though operations are on against the Kuki militants in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
According to T Parijat Singh, Kukis are reaching out to allies by spreading wrong propaganda to the global people.
When government collected biometric data for Kukis who fled from Myanmar and currently taking shelter in Kamjong district so that they could be repatriated, International Commission of Jurists intervened against the repatriation process after the Kukis lodged complaint.
The ever increasing Burmese Kuki immigrants in Kamjong district have outnumbered indigenous Naga villagers in the area and more than 2,000 Kuki villages have been established within a short period, Parijat claimed.
According Parijat, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Pherzawl districts have fallen into the hands of the Kukis while Tengnoupal district too is gradually coming under the grip.
All the Naga villages which existed in Moreh before 1992 have been evicted by the Kukis but the government of India continues to protect the Kukis who illegally entered the country.
These illegal immigrants are being converted into Indian citizens by providing Aadhaar card and enrolling in the voter list and even protected by the Indian Constitution by listing them in the Scheduled Tribe.
Apart from this, illegal immigrants are being provided benefits under more than 60 welfare schemes of the government while major political parties are using Kuki militants for vote bank and power politics from time to time, he said adding that majority of the Kukis of Myanmar arid Manipur are possessing Aadhaar card of both India and Myanmar.
Expressing deep concern over population engineering and war waged by the Kukis against indigenous people in Manipur, the MIYC statement warned that indigenous people of Manipur will go extinct in near future if entire indigenous people of the land do not fight the war.
It also said that Manipur government and the people too need to take a decisive stand before Manipur turns into another Tripura.
While stating that Government of India must be clear and sincere about bringing resolution to the crisis, the MIYC statement said the only decision of the people of Manipur is to repatriate Kuki refugees who entered the land illegally and there should be no separate administration or union territory, which would disintegrate Manipur.
