Another batch of cleft lip and palate patients from Nagaland under cleft palate project, a joint venture being taken up by the Rotary Club Kohima, Imphal and Shija Hospital, Imphal, has left on April 21 while the remaining batch would be leaving the state for surgery at Shija Hospital, Imphal, on Wednesday.
It was learned that six cleft lip palate patients is expected to leave Kohima to undergo correction surgery at Shija Hospital, Imphal.
Speaking to media persons at Putuonuo Nursing Home, Kohima, on April 21, Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Shija Hospital, Dr.Kh.
Palin, said that so far the cleft palate project was very successful and already more than 40 persons had gone for correctional surgery for the cleft lip and palate.
The MD of the hospital also said that there could be about 4000 patients with cleft lip and palate in Nagaland and further thanked the Rotary Club Kohima and Putuonuo Nursing Home, Kohima, for all the help and also appealed to all the patients to come forward to avail the opportunity provided at the Shija Hospital, Imphal, under Smile Train Project Agency.
He further said that the patients would be transported to Imphal and brought back free of cost and the treatment cost would be borne by the Smile Train Project Agency.
