The scholarship recipients are students from families displaced by the ongoing crisis in the state.
Speaking at the event, EMA Trust president retired Colonel Shantikumar Sapam highlighted the Organisation's mission to support displaced families, through various initiatives including educational supports.
EMA Trust was formed by like-minded individuals committed to assisting families affected by the crisis.
Educational scholarships are currently being provided to children of martyrs who lost their lives in the violence, he said.
He added that people from within and outside the state have come forward to sponsor these scholarships.
Initially targeting 110 students, the trust is currently supporting 62 students with monthly scholarships, including those residing in relief camps.
Many of these students were on the verge of dropping out of school due to the death of their families' primary bread winners.
The trust has plans to expand its support by setting up a hostel for displaced students and is exploring ways to extend the scholarships beyond the 12th standard.
Colonel Shantikumar expressed hope that these efforts would enable more students to continue their education despite the hardships they face.
During the interaction, HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifles contributed refreshment items for the participants, while head of dental department at RIMS, Dr Bhoomika provided AYUSH medical kits to the students.
