Operation Sadbhavna brings mobility and dignity to citizens of Manipur

Imphal, February 22 2026: In a commendable step towards fostering inclusive development and reinforcing civil-military relations, a Wheelchair and Walking Sticks Distribution Programme was organised at Thoubal District, Manipur on Saturday under Operation Sadbhavna.

According to IGAR (South) in a release, the initiative sought to empower differently abled and elderly citizens by enhancing their mobility, dignity and self-reliance.

Aid items worth Rs 2 lakh were distributed to 21 beneficiaries, enabling them to overcome physical limitations and lead lives of greater independence.

The programme was attended by relatives of beneficiaries, civilians, staff from the District Administration and members of Civil Society Organisations, reflecting the collective spirit of support and solidarity within the community.

The event also witnessed the participation of officials and troops of Assam Rifles, whose presence underscored the force's commitment to strengthening its bond with the people of Manipur.

Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance, noting its potential to significantly improve their quality of life.
