AAI signs MoU to transform aviation training

In a significant move to enhance the skills and knowledge of students in the aviation industry, Airports Authority of India (AAI) hosted a landmark event for signing of a Mem orandum of Understanding (MoU) under the PRADIPTI scheme, which stands for "Igniting Passion for Aviation at Imphal International Airport on Wednesday.
This initiative is part of AAI's commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and practical industry experience, particularly in the held of aviation.
According to a press statement issued by AAI, the event held in the conference hall of the Terminal Building at Imphal International Airport, saw participation of key educational leaders from 11 renowned institutions across Imphal representing a diverse cross-section of academic dis ciplines, all converging towards a shared goal of enriching their students' learning experiences through this strategic partnership with AAI.
Among the leaders were the registrar of IIIT Manipur Sarbajeet Singh; dean of computer science department, Manipur University; dean of extension education.
Central Agriculture University, Prof Indira, NIT Manipur director Somayajulu; MIT Imphal principal Basanta; NIELIT director Debachandra; and Babina Group chairman Thangjam Dhabali, among others.
PRADIPTI is a flagship initiative AAI designed as a revamped internship policy.
It aims to provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to real-world aviation operations, thus, igniting and sustaining a passion for aviation among the younger generation.
The scheme is structured to offer comprehensive training, mentorship, and engagement opportunities, ensuring that students acquire the necessary skills to excel in the aviation industry.
The event began at 10:30 AM with the assembly of airport executives and educators.
Airport director of Imphal International Airport, Chipemmi Keishing emphasised the pivotal role that the PRADIPTI scheme will play in equipping students with the knowledge and skills required for success in the aviation industry.
It was followed by a detailed PowerPoint presentation, outlining the objectives, structure, and expected outcomes of the PRADIPTI scheme.
A video presentation further demonstrated the practical applications of theoretical knowledge, providing an immersive look into various facets of airport operations.
Chipemmi Keishing also highlighted the strategic importance of PRADIPTI scheme in creating a robust pipeline of talent for the aviation sector.
He discussed the long-term benefits for students, including exposure to industry best practices, opportunities for skill enhancement, and the potential for future employment within the aviation industry.
PRADIPTI nodal officer at Imphal International Airport Rohit Joshi provided a comprehensive overview of the internship policy, detailing the step-by-step process for educational institutions to engage with AAI through this scheme.
The highlight of the event was the formal signing of the MoU between AAI and the participating educational institutions.
The MoU signifies a commitment to work together in nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals.
The PRADIPTI scheme is expected to significantly enhance the practical learning experience for students, providing them with a competitive edge as they transition from academia to the professional world.
After the formal event, AAI officials and educational leaders had an informal discussions solidifying the collaborative relationship and set the stage for future initiatives under the PRADIPTI scheme.
