Governor, Education minister extend greetings on Statehood Day

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and education minister Th Basantakumar extended best wishes and warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of 53rd statehood day, 2025.In his message, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla reminded that Manipur became a full-fledged state of the Indian union on January 21, 1972 and added that it was a dream come true for the people of Manipur.
"Manipur became equal partners with other states in building a modern India and along with it came the responsibilities and opportunities.
It is in the hands of the people of the state to take full advantage of these new avenues which have been opened up and shape their destiny," he said.
"Since attaining statehood, Manipur has, indeed, been making rapid progress in different fields of development.
There is need to sustain this pace to march in tandem with the rest of the country, welfare measures need to be pursued more vigorously, based on equity where all citizens of the state irrespective of caste, creed or religion feel the sense of belonging to an egalitarian society.
Let us all come together and work relentlessly to make Manipur a peaceful and prosperous state", he added.
Similarly, education/ law & legislative affairs minister Th Basanta Kumar Singh in a message extended heartfelt greetings on the significant occasion of Manipur's statehood day.
"As we celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Manipur becoming a full-fledged state, it is a moment to reflect on Our journey, achievements, and the challenges we face", he said.
"On this Statehood Day, let us renew our pledge to work together for the prosperity and development of Manipur.
May we continue to uphold the values of unity, peace, save, progress, and strive to build a state that we can all be proud of" Basanta Kumar added.
