KK Nganba's book 'Thamoigi Kholao' released

A book entitled 'Thamoigi Kholao' written by KK Nganba was released Friday in a function held at Manipur Press Club.
The book release function organised by Ashangba Communication was attended by retired IAS Kangjam Radhakumar as chief guest, UNLF former chairman RK Sanayaima as president and socio-political activist Chongtham Bijoy as guest of honour.
Associate professor Dr Chirom Rajketan of Manipuri Department, Manipur University introduced the book to the audience at the event.
In his address, Sanayaima said KK Nganba's book depicts distressful Manipur society, culture and other sectors after Manipur became a part of India in 1949.The writer might be unaware how the people will feel about his expression in a poetic way but his poems clearly depicted conditions of Manipur after the merger with India.
Through the book, the writer also showed his dissatisfaction on the conditions of the nation and the society after the merger and the eagerness to bring a change, Sanayaima said.
According to Sanayaima, a huge wave of corruption emerged in Manipur after it became part of India till the attainment of a full-fledged state of India with corrupt practices normalised in contemporary Manipur.
During the time of election generally referred as the festival of democracy, voters turn into commercial item as active workers of candidates serve as brokers to purchase votes and KK Nganba expressed concern on the said trend through his book, Sanayaima said and appealed to the people to read the book and discuss it thoroughly to spread the message of the writer.
