Loom distributed to PwD beneficiary

Imphal, August 16 2026: Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur distributed a weaving loom to Moirangmayum Echal, 25, a differently-abled woman of Mayang Imphal Kokchai Mayai Leikai.

The distribution programme, held at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai, was attended by Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisan Cooperative Society Ltd (AWAS) board member Ngangbam Champrajini, SeSTA (NoDe) Integrator Tanushree Medhi, Relief Centre media advisor Nimol Ningombam, programme manager MK Reeya, and K Jaya among others.

Speaking at the event, Champrajini said the initiative aims to support weavers without looms and boost handloom production in the district.

Echal, daughter of M Naba Singh, was specially selected as a PwD beneficiary from Imphal West.

Echal expressed gratitude to the Relief Centre and AWAS for the support.
