Imphal, June 15 2026: Marking continued environmental efforts, two tree plantation programmes were held in Imphal West.

At Langjing Achouba, a drive themed "Remembering Mothers" was organised today at the Old Age Home.

Chief guest Padmashri Nameirakpam Kunjarani, retired CRPF Commandant, said, "If every person plants a tree remembering their mother, we can counter climate change.

Stop needless felling and burning of trees".

She urged nurturing saplings for survival.

W Nandini Devi, 2nd In Commandant, 86-Bn CRPF, advisors RK Maipaksana Singh, Dr TM Rajen Ayangba, Rakesh Naorem, legal advisor L Gangarani, and Home president Dr Mayengbam Kamala attended.

Secretary KC Gita noted several octogenarian mothers participated.

Separately, Nature Club, Haoreibi continued its August 2025 drive with SBI's Regional Business Office, Babupara, at Chandranadi riverbank on June 14.Members safeguarded trees and replaced withered ones, stressing daily environmental responsibility.
