Training programme on "Food Processing & Branding" kicks off

A 4-Days Hands-on Training Programme on "Quality Horticulture Products: Food Processing & Branding" kicked off today at Farmers' Training Hall, Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandly Services in Sanjenthong.
The training programme was organised by the Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Government of Manipur under the scheme-Value Chain Marketing of Quality Local Horticulture Products Through Brand-Building Initiatives.
The inaugural function was graced by Thaithuilung Pamei, Commissioner, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Manipur; Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meetei, Deputy Director, MSME-Technology Centre, Imphal and K Debadutta Sharma, Director, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Manipur as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Thaithuilung Pamei said that the training programme was conducted with the aim to produce quality horticulture products and help improve the economy of Manipur.
He advised the farmers and entrepreneurs to use the knowledge they gain about food processing, value addition & branding from different experts wisely to become successful in their respective field.
K Debadutta said that the "Value Chain Marketing of Quality Local Horticulture Products Through Brand-Building Initiatives" scheme was launched under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh in 2020-21 to promote quality local horticulture products of the State.
He shared that so far, the scheme has benefitted 40 entrepreneurs of the State.
In the technical session, K Debadutta Sharma delivered a lecture on the topic "Entrepreneurship Development in the Food Processing Sector" while Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meetei spoke on "MSME for the Budding Entrepreneurs" .
