NEC releases over Rs 6 Cr in May

The North Eastern Council (NEC) released a total of Rs 6,19,49,507 to support various projects in Manipur during the month of May, 2025.According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, NEC Secretariat, Shillong, the funds were distributed across 9 projects, namely, construction of multi-facility centre at IGNTU-RCM at Kangpokpi (Rs 82,34,979); integrated farming system model demonstration for sustained economy and livelihood (Rs 37,50,000); backward community of Zeme Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong (Rs 62,61,500); construction of mini stadium at Laungrang (Nungnang), Noney (Rs 2 crore); 7 days livelihood skill development technology, intervention training program cum workshop & exhibition of kouna craft at Khangabok village, Thoubal (Rs 8 lakh); provision for furniture and fixture for construction of SC/ST boys and girls hostel at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Imphal (Rs 59,73,750); construction of multi-utility building for Thangal tribe at Senapati, 25 bedded residential hostel for girls at Makeng Chejinba village, Senapati and common community pond at Angkailongdi village, Senapati (Rs 1,35,69,278); tissue culture facility for production of disease free citrus (Rs 26,40,000) and training programme on cane and bamboo products for Churachandpur (Rs 7,20,000) .
