Imphal, January 13 2026: A one-day symposium on women empowerment was held today at the Central Hall of GP Women's College.

The symposium was organised by the Lions Club of Imphal in collaboration with the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC), GP Women's College.

The event was graced by Lalit Kumar Kothari, PMJF, District Governor, Lions Club International 322D as the chief guest; Professor L Rajen Singh, Principal, GP Women's College as the functional president; Neena Dutta, MJF, Vice District Governor 1, District 322D; Elangbam Meghabati, MJF, president, Lions Club of Imphal Chanura and Dr Nalini Nongmeikapam, ICC Coordinator, GP Women's College as the guests of honour.

As programme chairperson, Ksh Padma delivered the keynote address.

Meanwhile, Neena Dutta gave a PowerPoint presentation on "Women and education"; Narengbam Nonibala on "Women as leaders for peace initiatives"; Nandini Thokchom on "Know your rights", Gojendra, PDG on "Women in a leadership role" and Lakshmi Roy on "The power is within you, grab it" .
