'Disturbance Free Educational Zone' campaign continues

Imphal, August 11 2026: As part of its month-long "Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand" campaign, the Coordinating Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand organized awareness programmes on Tuesday at Johnston Higher Secondary School and Wangoi Higher Secondary School in Imphal West district.

Speaking during the campaign, DESAM secretary general Thoudam Shyamjai said the deteriorating education system in the State is due to the Government's lack of serious attention.

He demanded that the Manipur Education Service, which was introduced in 2014, be revived and that key posts in the Education Department be filled by people from the teaching community.

As part of the campaign, students also staged a demonstration in front of the school gates, raising slogans in support of the demand'for a disturbance free educational zone.
