Assam Rifles hoIds multi-speciality medical camp at Ukhrul

Imphal, December 09 2025: Assam Rifles organised a Multi-Speciality Mega Medical Camp at Awangkasom village in Ukhrul District under the flagship Operation Sadbhavana.

According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the initiative was aimed at improving healthcare access in remote border areas of Manipur where medical facilities remain scarce and communities often travel long distances for even basic treatment.

The camp brought together a team of doctors from diverse disciplines including general medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and dental care, supported by Assam Rifles medical personnel.

Residents from Awangkasom and neighbouring hamlets received free consultations, diagnostic services, medicines and health counselling.

Special screenings were organised for pregnant women, senior citizens and children to enable early detection and timely intervention for common ailments.

The outreach also promoted health education, raising awareness on hygiene, nutrition, maternal health and lifestyle diseases The camp organised by Assam Rifles witnessed a turnout of approximately 450 people, reflecting strong community participation and trust.
