Nongyai: 'Peace talk' with Gol for resolving conflict

The Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) celebrated the 38th Raising Day of its military wing Manipur People's Army (MPA) on Sunday.
Acting chairman M Nongyai led party leaders, cadres and people in paying revolutionary salute to the fallen revolutionaries at the Front's GHQ.
Apart from recalling how the MPA was raised and survived, Nongyai also placed clearly to the gathering about party's 'peace talk' with the Government of India for resolving the Manipur-India conflict.

According to a Pambei-led UNLF statement, the celebration was held at different locations in Manipur and outside, including MPA-GHQ 1st, 2nd and 3rd brigade, 291, 292, 293, 241 and 242 battalions as well as Pakhangba, Thanjing, Marjing, Koubru, Nongpok Ningthou and Zulu Bn, central headquarters and different departments together with the people.
The main celebration was held at 1st Brigade headquarters with acting chairman M Nongyai as chief guest, MPA chief of army staff Kh Khomba as president and general secretary Ch Thanil, finance secretary I Tonsana, health and family welfare secretary N Loya and organisation secretary S Nongdol as guests of honour.
The celebration was also attended by large number of party cadres, staff officers, staff assistants, local cadres, MPA-GHQ authorities, senior officers, officers and privates.
Many people from different places of Manipur and CSO leaders also attended the event.
The department of external affairs celebrated MPA Raising Day in a foreign country while the commemorative event at CHQ was attended by human resources development secretary S Tamphajao as chief guest and project secretary S Pankhei as guest of honour.
At 1st Brigade headquarters, those present observed a two-minute silence in honour of revolutionaries martyred during the course of liberation movement for Manipur, followed by paying of rich floral tributes to the martyrs and unfurling of party's flag.
