NCC cadets participate in mock drills

Imphal, May 07 2025:
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) participated in the nationwide Mock Disaster Preparedness Drill conducted simultaneously across various districts in Manipur and Nagaland on Wednesday.
A release issued by PRO Defence informed that the exercise was conducted under the guidance of respective NDRF, SDRF, state police, Fire and emergency services, medical authorities, etc., to enhance coordination and readiness among key response teams during disaster situations that may arise due to on-going disturbance in the country and region.
More than 600 cadets and staff from different battalions and educational institutions participated in the drill, showcasing their capabilities and training in the sensitive fields of first aid, evacuation techniques, crowd control, traffic management, fire fighting, communication protocols, etc.
Their disciplined conduct and quick response actions won appreciation from officials and observers alike.
The cadets demonstrated exceptional discipline, courage and teamwork.
These drills are vital in preparing our youth to act decisively in times of real emergencies, said the PRO release.
It informed that in Manipur, 250 NCC cadets of 65 Manipur Girls Battalion showed exceptional discipline and readiness during the nationwide 'Operation Abhyaas'.
Cadets participated at the mock drills conducted at JNV Tuinom, Churachandpur; Johnstone HSS, Imphal West; Ukhrul; and HSS Ningkouthong, Bishnupur, in collaboration with district administration.
25 Nagaland Battalion participated in the mock drill at the DC office, Mokokchung.
The cadets were assigned roles as per the Gazette, forming groups for medical, fire-fighting, traffic control & Search and Rescue (Messenger).
At Dimapur, cadets of 1 Nagaland Battalion, Air squadron and NCC Company representing the Patkai Christian College, Chumukidema, Kohima Science College, Livingstone School, Dimapur, MGHSS Mokokchung, DPS Dimapur and Pilgrim School Dimapur actively participated in briefing by civil defence staff, first aid, rescue and casualty evacuation, awareness class on safety measures during air raid.
