Thoubal, October 06 2025:
The Lamding Educated Welfare Association (LEWA), Thoubal district, has once again demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by initiating road repair work on the deteriorating road stretch from the National Highway leading towards Lamdeng, Sangaiyumpham and Tentha.
In a press release, LEWA stated that the damaged road has caused severe inconveniences for daily commuters.
The stretch, filled with numerous potholes, had become difficult to navigate, especially during the rainy season.
To address the issue, LEWA members, in collaboration with the MLA of Khangabok AC, O Surjakumar.
undertook the repair work by filling the potholes with gravel, with active support from local residents and villagers.
LEWA advisor, Haridash Sorokhaibam remarked that while the road still awaits proper blacktopping from the Government, its condition has worsened significantly, making even pedestrian movement difficult.
He expressed appreciation to all LEWA members for their concerted efforts in carrying out the much-needed repairs.
