Assam Rifles flags in National Integration Tour

Imphal, December 04 2025: The National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Assam Rifles under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavna was ceremonially flagged in at Sector Headquarters of Assam Rifles at Churachandpur, Manipur on December 1, 2025 .

According to a release issued by the IGAR (S), the 15-day tour, conducted from November 15-30, 2025, involved 24 member contingent including 22 students and two teachers from Churachandpur district, duly accompanied by personnel of Assam Rifles for coordination.

The event was presided over by Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, in the presence of senior military leadership, civil dignitaries and representatives of civil society organisations and proud family members of the participants.

The tour, which spanned Delhi, Jaipur and Kolkata, offered the young participants a rare and immersive experience into the cultural, historical and institutional fabric of the nation.

In Delhi, the students visited the National War Memorial and India Gate, where they paid homage to fallen heroes, including martyrs from their own district.

A defining moment came with their visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan, where they had the honour of meeting the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.

The interaction left a deep emotional impact, with students describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

In Jaipur, the group explored the vibrant markets of Johari, Bapu and Tripolia Bazaars, and visited iconic landmarks such as Amer Palace, Jal Mahal and Nahargarh Fort.

An educational visit to the Birla Planetarium sparked scientific curiosity, while their interaction with the Chief of Staff, South Western Command, inspired many to consider careers in the Armed Forces.

Kolkata offered a rich blend of history and modernity.

The students visited the Victoria Memorial Hall, St Paul's Cathedral, and the Birla Industrial and Technological Museum.

A cruise on the Hooghly River and a visit to Salt Lake Stadium added dynamic perspectives to their journey.

Their interaction with senior officials of Eastern Command further deepened their understanding of national service and leadership.

The tour not only broadened the students' horizons but also instilled a profound sense of pride, unity, civic responsibility and a renewed commitment to the ideals of unity and service, said the IGAR (S) .
