Wildlife Week Celebration: JFD organises rally

In observation of 70th Wildlife Week Celebration, Divisional Forest Officer, Jiribam Forest Division organised a foot rally today with the participation of students, local clubs, Red Cross Society members, Forest Division staff and the public.
The rally was flagged off from Jiribam Higher Secondary School under the theme "Wildlife Conservation Through Co-Existence" .
Speaking in this connection, DFO Jiribam Elangbam Nirmala said that the Jiribam Forest Division has also organised essay competition, painting competition and cycle rally in connection with the observation of 70th Wildlife Week Celebration.
She also advocated for conservation of the environment.
Meanwhile, WildLife Warden Huirem Rajen Kr Singh highlighted the importance of the celebration while adding that the rally was staged to spread awareness about conservation and protection of wildlife.
Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competitions at the Divisional Forest Office located at Uchathol.
Notably, Wildlife Week Celebration is being observed across the nation from October 2 to 8 .
