Imphal, June 04 2025:
The Konsakhul (Konsaram) Village Authority has denied having any prior knowledge of the agreement between the United Naga Council (UNC) and Sadar Hills Chief's Association (SAHILCA), which is linked to the April 5, 2025, attack on the Konsaram Village chief, Pastor and villagers.
In a statement, KVA said that they were neither consulted nor informed at any stage regarding the developments leading to the 'purported agreement' between UNC and SAHILCA.
Continuing that they, as Nagas have always put their trust In UNC, believing in its 'unwavering commitment' to justice, truth and the protection of Naga homeland and dignity, the village authority maintained that their trust stems from shared experiences shaped by pain and struggle.
The KVA expressed that the memories of the January 7 Lungwiram assault on Naga women still linger, and the April 5 attack on Konsaram Village by Kuki militants and their armed volunteers has compounded their trauma and pain.
Stating that the core issue concerning Konsaram revolves around land ownership, the village authority asserted that they will steadfastly protect their land as rightful owners and will not yield under any circumstances.
"We strong reiterate the powerful declaration made by our supremo Ato Kilonser Th Muivah: Not an inch of Nagas land will be compromised," KVA said and added that this assertion embodies the collective will and unshakable resolve of the Naga people in defending their ancestral land.
The village authorities urged the Working Committee of UNC to take serious note of their unwavering stance to 'protect our ancestral land' .
Saying that they had earnestly hoped that justice would be pursued with clarity, courage and moral conviction regarding the Konsaram incident, the KVA appealed to their collective leadership to allow God's wisdom to guide every decision 'so that truth is not compromised and peace is not built upon silence or exclusion' .
