Ibobi bats for House debate on crisis

Disapproving the ruling party and government's denial to discuss issues plaguing the state in the assembly, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Okram Ibobi Singh questioned where issues plaguing the state should be debated other that the assembly.
Addressing media persons at Congress Bhawan, here, on Tuesday, Ibobi said people of Manipur are suffering for nearly 20 months due to the ongoing violence.
Despite having only five members, Congress party offered help to the government in resolving the crisis and restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
Congress party has no intention of taking political mileage but the government never accepted the offer, prompting the Congress to propose discussing issues confronting the state.
However, the government rejected the request and even told the Opposition to study Constitution, Ibobi said.
