Imphal, May 29 2025:
The All Zeliangrong Students' Union, Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN), has resolved to strongly oppose land encroachment and prevent any underground group from setting up camps in Zeliangrong areas without consulting the local people, as decided during its 5th Dimki/Union assembly.
The assembly, held on May 27 at Peren Village, Nagaland, passed at least three key resolutions.
As per a press statement issued by AZSU-AMN, the first resolution pledged to firmly resist land encroachment in Zeliangrong-inhabited areas by 'foreign inhabitants' and urged the Zeliangrong people across Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland to unite in protecting their ancestral land without compromise.
"We stand strong in preserving our ancestral lands against any external threat and urge every Zeliangrong citizen to full prepare for any eventuality protecting our heritage with all might," the house declared.
The second resolution stipulated that no underground group shall be allowed to establish camps in Zeliangrong areas without prior consultation with the Zeliangrong community.
AZSU-AMN added that establishing underground camps without proper consultation and prior approval from the Zeliangrong community would be viewed as a direct challenge to the community.
The assembly's third resolution resolved to commemorate the AZSU-AMN Diamond Jubilee and ZSUM Platinum Jubilee with grandeur and announced AZSU's participation in the NSF Martyrs Trophy Tournament.
AZSU-AMN urged all Zeliangrong citizens to remain vigilant and uphold its resolutions 'with unwavering dedication' .
The assembly was hosted by Peren Students' Union in collaboration with Zeliangrong Students' Union (Nagaland) .
