RPF offers fitting revolutionary salute to slain cadre

The proscribed RPF has offered revolutionary salute to PLA Major Gulu, PREPAK(Pro)'s Red Army Captain Sopaiba and Lance Corporal Nongdon.
The three revolutionary fighters laid down their lives in a battle of the ongoing people's war of liberation, said a press release issued by the outfit's Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim.
Mourning the death of the three revolutionary fighters who fought relentlessly for the liberation of Manipur, RPF and its armed wing PLA have conveyed solidarity to the bereaved families, relatives and friends.
Acknowledging Gulu's contributions and sacrifice, he was posthumously promoted to the rank of Major.
Major Gulu, known as Oinam Babu Meetei at home, was born at Jiribam, Kadamtala.
He was the third of five siblings born to Oinam Kunjo Meetei and Oinam (ongbi) Pishak Leima.
Major Gulu joined the outfit on June 29, 2003 and he was given army number A-2570 after completing the PLA's basic military training on January 31, 2004 .
When he first joined RPF, Major Gulu said that he joined the liberation movement for he loved the motherland with all his heart.
Maj Gulu was always calm, composed, dutiful, loyal, polite and highly disciplined.
Regardless of which units or departments where he was posted, Major Gulu accepted whatever tasks the party entrusted to him and he worked tirelessly to take the party to greater heights, the outfit said.
Major Gulu was a beloved comrade of the party who dedicatedly performed the duties of the people's liberation movement till his last moment, it said.
The outfit further prayed that the departed souls of the three revolutionary fighters may rest in peace on the soil of the motherland.
