Imphal, July 25 2010: Commander in Chief and Foreign Secretary of militant outfit UKLA (MC) were among the five activists of different underground groups apprehended by the security forces and police commandos in separate counter insurgency operations.

The C-in-C of the UKLA (MC), Linpao Touthang @ Francis Kuki @ Lintinmang (36) son of Lunkhongan Touthang of Aigijang village and its Foreign Secretary, Letkam Haokip (3() son of Lunkholet Haokip of Lamajang Village were apprehended by a combined team of Imphal east police commandos and troops of 23 Assam Rifles on July 23 at about 9 pm, a statement of the Imphal east SP, Th Radheshyam said.

A 9 mm pistol loaded with five live rounds in a magazine seized from the possession of the C-in-C and one blue colour suit-case containing many important documentsone passport issue by Union Ministry of Home Affairs, one 50 pages cheque issued by State Bank of India against A/C no 30884014015, one pan card issued by income tax department bearing no.Bimpk v1738C, one note pad, one pass book issued by SBI against no.30244313777 were recovered from the possession of the foreign secretary, Letkam Haokip, the statement added.

They were involved in many anti-national activities including extortion of money from general public including government employees and businessmen, kidnapping for ransom etc.

A women KCP activist identified as Aguilu Kamei (40) wife of Paochalung Gangmei of Keikhu village was also apprehended by a team of the Imphal east police commandos from Mahabali area today, at about 9.10 am.

She is an active member of the KCP and earlier also she was arrested in the month of July 2008 by Imphal west police commandos on the charge of extortion of money.

she is working under the commando of Bala Devi and actively involved in extortion of money from people of Mahabali Kabui Khul, the SP added.

Two activists, one belonging to KCP (City Meetei) and another KYKL (MDF) were also nabbed by the police commandos in separate operations yesterday from different places.

A statement of the Senior SP, Imphal West District, L Kailun said that the KCP (City Meitei) activist identified as James Naga (17) son of Kihang Naga of Somsai village of Ukhrul district was nabbed by a combined team of Imphal west and east police commandos from Khomidok bazar.

The activist working under Self Style Deputy Secretary of finance Chirom Tiken of KCP (City Meitei) is involved in the shooting to injure of one youth Jibanta and also kidnapping of Khaidem Nabakumar for ransom, the statement charged.

Imphal west police commandos also nabbed an activist of the KYKL (MDF) idenitified as Waikhom Abung @ Pradip (25) son of W Ibomcha of Seijang Mayai Leikai presently residing at Nagamapal Brahmapur Leikai from Nagamapal Singjubung Leikai yesterday at about 1 pm.

One Chinese hand grenade and extortion letter of KYKL (MDF) were seized from his possession, the statement added.
