From Sanjnethong, the protesters went to Brahmapur Bheigyabati Leikai and met the Speaker.
During the meeting with Th Satyabrata, convenor of COCOMI's women wing Y Leirik Leima demanded that all legislators who cannot safeguard Manipur must resign.
She also said that they are very disappointed to see the 50 MLAs (including the 10 Naga MLAs) not doing much when the Kuki MLAs have openly demanded disintegration of Manipur.
Leirik Leima further said that both the Central and the State Government must resign on moral ground if they couldn't drive out the 'Kuki terrorists' who are hostile towards the Meeteis.
Responding to the womenfolk, Satyabrata said that everyone is affected by the violence in Manipur.
The Speaker also said that he is disheartened to see people suffering due to the violence.
Saying that the Government has been working to restore normalcy in Manipur, he added that they as a elected Government don't want to stoop to the level of those who want to balkanise the State or give uneccesary statements over the matter.
Further stating that they have been giving suggestion to Chief Minister to resolve the crisis in Manipur from time to time, Satyabrata added that he doesn't want to stay as a leader of the people if he could not protect them.
