Governor of Manipur Dr Syed Ahmed has extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Manipur especially to Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha.
In a greeting message, the Governor said Id-Ul-Zuha, meaning 'festival of sacrifice,' signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self-interest for the good of all.
The Governor called upon the people to forget differences and usher in an era of peace and harmony in Manipur.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has also extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur especially Muslim brethren on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
In his message, he said that the festival celebrates the spirit of sacrifice and promotes the feeling of compassion and love to serve the poor and the needy.
O Ibobi wished, "Let us celebrate this festival with joy of sharing, charity and serve the cause of humanity.
May this festival unite us all in a spirit of common brotherhood to serve the cause of humanity for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur" .
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Shyamkumar, Rajya Sabha MP Haji Abdul Salam, MOBC and Science and Technology Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah, YAS and Tourism Parliamentary Secretary M Prithviraj also greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command and Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, General Officer Commanding, 3 Corps extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Id-Ul-Zuha (Bakr-Id) .
They also conveyed their earnest message of peace, harmony and unity on this joyous occasion and wished them that the festival ushers to a prosperous era.
IGAR (S) Maj Gen VS Sreenivas and all ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended warm greetings and sincere goodwill to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion.
IGAR (S) also conveyed his earnest message of peace, harmony and unity on the joyous occasion.
BJP Kishan Morcha, AAP Manipur, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordinating Committee, All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association and All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation also extended warm wishes on the occasion.
Chairman, Popular Front of India, Manipur State, KM Shareef also conveyed Bakrid greetings to the people.
