Ukhrul, May 24 2024:
Endorsing the directive of the apex Naga student body, Naga Students' Federation (NSF), the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has reiterated its stand to "not extend co-operation to the Indian Armed Forces or Paramilitary Forces in any form" .
A press statement issued by TKS jointly signed by president Ramreichan Keishing and general secretary PS Ningthingmaya said that TKS vehemently condemns the draconian Armed Forces Special Power Act -1958 (AFSPA) in their homeland.
AFSPA, 1958 has precipitated terror in the hearts and minds of Naga people over the decades and tormented and victimized with impunity many innocent Nagas, said the TKS.
Therefore, in pursuant to and in re-affirmation of the NSF's federal assembly resolution on the repeal of AFSPA, 1958 from Naga homeland, the TKS has notified the public that "no individual, organisations, institutions, forum/union under Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong shall associate/in-vite the Indian Armed forces to any event in its jurisdiction.
Neither, partake in any official events of the Armed Forces" .
TKS has also appealed people to ensure compliance with the resolution of the NSF.
It warned that stem actions will be initiated failing to uphold the directive of NSF.
