Imphal, April 23 2026:
There will be more massive and intense protest demonstrations if the Government fails to take decisive actions to deliver justice for the Tronglaobi victims by April 25, COCOMI Women Wing convenor Wahengbam Luwangleima said today.
Speaking to the media at Khongjom Khebaching, Luwangleima said the State Government has so far failed to take any concrete steps to resolve the Manipur crisis.
Even after nearly 3 years of the conflict, the Government has failed to crack down on Kuki militants and curb terror activities, she said.
COCOMI condemns all forms of violence and it wants the Government to take decisive actions to bring the perpetrators of the April 7 Tronglaobi bomb attack that killed two children to justice, she said.
The Government failing to act decisively by April 25 will invite more massive and intense forms of agitation, she added.
Luwangleima also urged the Government to revoke its order giving more power to the police.
The order which allows "police to search and arrest any person" is against the interest of the public and "cowardly," she said.
