33 test positive, positivity rate stands at 32.7 pc

The upward trend of COVID-19 infection continues unabated in the State with 33 individuals testing positive today.
With 33 confirmed positive out of 101 samples tested today, the State registered a positivity rate of 32.7 per cent.
In light of the upward tick in positive cases, a meeting of the State Technical Expert Committee members has been convened at 11 am on June 25 at NHM conference hall to frame State specific guidelines on COVID-19 testing, home isolation, clinical management etc.
Imphal West accounted for the bulk of the positive cases detected today with 27 samples out of 67 confirmed positive.
Imphal East and Thoubal too registered three positive cases each.
The cumulative number of positive cases has now reached 145.Meanwhile, five COVID-19 patients were discharged today following recovery taking the total number of discharged cases to 13.At present, there are 132 active cases and 122 of them are in home isolation while the rest are in hospitals.
So far, 469 samples have been tested and 145 confirmed positive.
As such, the cumulative positivity rate is 30.9 per cent.
Notably, the Health Director issued an office memorandum on June 12, 2025 whereby different committees including team leaders and members were reconstituted.
In view of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the State, the Directorate of Health Services issued another memorandum on June 21, 2025 and instructed all the team leaders and members to take up necessary steps as per existing guidelines.
