Imphal, August 18 2024:
The proscribed KYKL observed the 31st Martyrs' Day at its battalion headquarters, units, transit camps and different places inside and outside Kangleipak in memory of the gallant warriors comprising of young men and women who had sacrificed their lives for the nationalist-revolutionary struggle of the people.
The main function was held at the central headquarters with prominent leaders of KYKL where condolence salute was offered to the departed apart from offering floral tribute to the bravehearts.
Recalling the immense contributions made by valiant men and women warriors towards intensification of the armed movement for a sovereign Kangleipak, a statement issued by KYKL secretary, publicity and research A Yaiphaba asserted their sacrificial spirit has instilled a sense of patriotism and valour to the younger Kanglei generation.
"On an occasion like this, we, the Kangleichas, should remember that the sacrifices made by our martyrs have enabled our revolution to march ahead.
This spirit of patriotism has also stirred the political and revolutionary consciousness of the people", it said.
Through their unstinted struggle and sacrifice, they managed to hand over the baton of revolutionary nationalism to the younger generation to this day.
At the same time, there are many who are taking advantage of Kanglei Nationalism for their selfish ends and many others who are agents of India, it said.
These elements are now hell bent on diverting the primary agenda of the nationalist revolution thereby shifting the very idea of nationalism itself.
Many youths have been misguided to follow them through the false indoctrination that those who possess guns are the true patriots.
These elements and their followers are guided by the false idea of nationalism and they can never come close to the correct concept of Kanglei nationalism as envisioned by "our martyrs" who had made supreme sacrifice, the KYKL asserted.
These misguided elements' claim to fame is exhibiting their guns to the common people and coercing them to believe that they are true patriots but they do not possess the courage to truly sacrifice their entire lives for the cause of Kanglei nationalist struggle, it said.
Currently, Kangleipak has fallen neck-deep in a whirlpool of pretence led by an increasing number of characters who have been engulfed by false consciousness.
This trend is fraught with danger, the outfit remarked.
Kangleichas must realise that these pretenders with false Nationalism are the ones who will never state that India is the primary adversary, it continued.
These pretenders will eventually work overtime to not only root out but also erase the true colours of Kanglei Nationalism.
This is why, it is of utmost importance that the people should not be swayed by the wave of false Nationalism but stay steadfast with revolutionary consciousness, the outfit asserted.
"We shall strive to fend ourselves against false nationalism otherwise we will all be eventually swallowed by colonialism leading to our ultimate extinction", it warned.
