Imphal, June 16 2009: Making a clarion call to the public to wake up and eliminate all the scoundrels, murderers and abductors operating in the society, the proscribed RPF has strongly condemned the murder of Special Contractor Yengkhom Krishnadas.

A press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief GM Changjou noted that all right-thinking people, clubs, associations and Meira Paibi organisations ought to condemn such murder.

It called upon the people to jointly fight against such terrorist gangs engaged in killing and abduction for ransom.

The outfit cautioned the people to be vigilant in order to defend themselves from such criminal activities.

It exhorted the people to cooperate and coordinate amongst themselves.

Alleging that Chief Minister O Ibobi and his agents have charged the atmosphere of Manipur with anguish and pain of separation, the outfit asserted that acts of State excesses characterised by killing of innocent civilians have been continuing incessantly since the beginning of 2009 .

Asserting that many innocent civilians bringing some few thousand rupees for admission of their children, purchasing goods from markets as well as commuters have been murdered, the outfit noted that a new trend of killing people right in front of their kith and kin at their own residences has crept up.

Since the beginning of this year, around 150 families have been into inflicted with deep pain and sorrow, it observed while asserting that the murder of Yengkhom Krishnadas may be seen as a part of this vicious conspiracy.

Abduction of Krishnadas from Imphal town amidst the heavy presence of security forces and again taking ransom of Rs 25 lakhs at Imphal itself was no task that could be executed by any individuals except the agents of Chief Minister O Ibobi, it alleged.

Quoting reports that Y Krishnadas was a social worker who worked for social-upliftment in Kakching area, the outfit noted that Krishnadas was actively involved in development works including construction and development of clubs, temples, sacred sites etc.

Cutting short the life of such a philanthropic man was a big loss to the society, it observed while sharing the pain and anguish being endured by the bereaved family and near and dear ones.
