After submitting the memorandum, Meghachandra told the media that the Prime Minister has been urged to visit Manipur at least once without any further delay.
The memorandum gives a detailed account of the turmoil and unrest prevailing in Manipur following the violent crisis which erupted on May 3, 2023 .
"Through the memorandum, we are also seeking the Prime Minister's attention to the bombing from high-tech drones, attacks carried out by using long range rockets and the resulting casualties", Meghachandra said.
"I went to the PMO and submitted the memorandum personally for we believe that the violent crisis can be brought to an end if the Prime Minister visits Manipur and pay due attention to the crisis", he said.
All the people of Manipur wish that the Prime Minister pays a visit to Manipur and explore a solution to the protracted crisis, he said.
The crisis has displaced around one lakh people and more than 200 people have been killed.
On September 1, civilian targets were bombed from high-tech drones on September 1 and this was followed by attacks using long range rockets.
Saying that the people of Manipur have been eagerly waiting for the Prime Minister's elusive visit, the memorandum urged the Prime Minister to visit Manipur, and bring peace and normalcy in the State without any further delay.
