CCpur, February 13 2016 :
The total shutdown imposed by several groups since yesterday to protest the decision to bury the nine tribal 'martyrs' has wound up today amidst a delicate atmosphere with the bodies of the nine 'martyrs' remaining intact at the mortuary where they had spent the last 160 days or so.
As the groups which opposed the burial extending their 24 hours shutdown for another day to contain the date fixed for doing so, people in hundreds thronged the hospital campus since dawn while others stayed overnight braving the cold to maintain the road blocks they had set-up along the roads as they are apprehensive that the State as well as the non-State actors may force their way to bury the 'martyrs' .
Despite the clearly charg-ed and volatile atmosphere, the day went off without any report of violence.
Supporters of the shutdown or those opposing the decision to bury without any consensus could be seen burning tyres along major streets of the town today as well.
Reports of womenfolk deciding to continue their vigil overnight on the streets as well as at the morgue have been doing rounds by the time of filing this report.
