BL Santosh assures popular Govt

BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh has assured the BJP MLAs camping at Delhi that a popular Government would be formed in Manipur shortly.
As such, some of the MLAs would be returning to Imphal tomorrow while the others would stay put at Delhi as meetings with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister have been sought.
BJP Legislative Party, Manipur convenor Khongbantabam Ibomcha said that they have been assured of the installation of a popular Government in Manipur at the earliest.
Out of the BJP MLAs currently camping at Delhi, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata, ex-Chief Minister N Biren, ex-Minister Thongam Biswajit, ex-Minister Yumnam Khemchand, ex-Minister Govindas Konthoujam and MLA Kh Ibomcha met BL Santosh at the latter's residence at New Delhi today.

The six-member delegation of BJP MLAs talked in detail on several issues of Manipur with BL Santosh for around one hour from 11 am to 12 noon.
A press release issued by Lamlai Assembly Constituency MLA Kh Ibomcha claimed that BL Santosh assured them that steps would be taken to establish a popular Government in Manipur soon.
According to a statement issued by Kh Ibomcha, the BJP MLAs went to Delhi to inform Central leaders about the present situation of Manipur, to expedite the Centre's peace efforts and install an inclusive popular Government in the State.
The BJP MLAs held a second meeting at Manipur Bhavan, SP Marg, Delhi at 6.30 pm on October 8 .
The meeting was also participated by BJP North East Coordinator and Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, Ibomcha said.
Sambit Patra said that the Centre has been working to install a popular Government and a popular Government would be formed in Manipur soon.
Sambit Patra also assured the BJP MLAs that the current term of the President's rule would not be extended, according to the press note issued by Kh Ibomcha.
On the other hand, sources informed that some of the BJP MLAs who are currently camping at Delhi would be returning to Imphal on Saturday.
Some BJP MLAs told The Sangai Express they are confident that the Central leaders would give the nod to formation of a popular Government in Manipur shortly.
As the Central leaders have assured that a popular Government would be formed definitely, it would not be right to stay any longer at Delhi, the MLAs said.
During the meeting with the six MLAs, BL Santosh assured that the Central leaders have already taken a decision not to further extend the President's Rule but allow the formation of a popular Government, the MLAs said.
BL Santosh assured that all the concerns and wishes of the BJP MLAs from Manipur would be placed before Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
As such, the MLAs will come back and wait for the Centre's response instead of camping at Delhi, they said.
They claimed that the Centre would allow formation of a popular Government in Manipur by November after the Bihar election.
