Landslide cuts off Anal Khullen

Chandel, July 09 2025:
Incessant rainfall over the past few days in Chandel district has led to a massive landslide along the Lamphou Charu-Anal Khullen inter-village road, cutting off Anal Khullen from the district headquarters.
The area where the landslide occurred is some 15 kilometers from Chandel district headquarters.
While road clearance work has begun, Anal Khullen remains isolated and inaccessible, said sources.
The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA), an apex body of the Anal Naga community is leading the road clearance work.
ANTA executive members including its president PS Monihring, and general secretary Lami, many community leaders and volunteers are engaged in the effort to clear the road.
The road clearance work is being financed by social worker Beton.
An excavator provided by special contractor, Lovingson is being used to clear the road, said sources.
ANTA general secretary Lami has expressed gratitude to the local chiefs, leaders and volunteers for extending their support and assistance.
Meanwhile, a fresh landslide has again blocked a portion of the road, said sources, adding ANTA is expected to resume the road clearance work tomorrow.
