Imphal, March 08, 2014:
An election campaign committee for Left and Secular Alliance's common candidate Dr M Nara was set up today at Upokpi, Bishnupur district.
Speaking at the occasion, ex-MLA Mangi claimed that Dr Nara is the most qualified candidate for the MP election.
He called upon all electors to give up the habit of campaigning and casting votes on the basis of candidates' parties.
Saying that people of Manipur have fallen in a dark pit, Mangi asserted that it's time to elect an MP who can pull up people out of the pit.
He also appealed to the gathering not to waste their voting rights.
Dr M Nara said that the country's development pace is going in reverse gear because of electing MPs who could not bear any sort of suffering for any length of time.
If one is determined to serve the public, he/she should work under a principle.
Those who cannot abide by his/her own principle would not do anything for the society.
Time is ripe to teach a befitting lesson to all the leaders accustomed to telling lies and falsehood.
Questioning how could a mute MP raise the myriad issues of the State in the Parliament, Dr Nara said that it would be better for the mute MP to sit at home.
Later, Oinam Shyamo of Irengband was appointed president of the Dr Nara Supporting Election Campaign Committee while Oinam Jugeshwar of Upokpi was made the vice-president.
It was claimed that 14 executives and 500 members have been enrolled in the committee on the very first day of its establishment.
