ZUF against trade embargo

While welcoming the Prime Minister's anticipated visit to Manipur likely on September 13, the Zeliangrong United Front has denounced UNC's call for an indefinite "trade embargo" in Naga areas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit will address and give healing touch to all the regional political aspirations of the people of North Eastern India that include a long drawn political aspiration of Zeiliangrong people, it said in a statement issued by its secretary, information and publicity, Louis Gangmei.
On the other hand, it said, the UNC's proposed indefinite economic blockade is uncalled for.
The UNC and its constituent units should not create any form of agitation in Zeliangrong areas even in near future, it said, urging Zeliangrong people not to extend any help and cooperation towards to aid the proposed economic blockade.
ZUF shall not be held responsible for any dire consequences arising out of violation of its directive, it cautioned.
