G-5 claims attacks at MLAs' homes, oil pump

Imphal, September 05 2026: The G-5 comprising KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK-Pro and the Koireng-led UNLF has claimed responsibility for the grenade attacks at the residences of MLA S Ranjan, MLA K Meghachandra and Sorojini Oil Pump.

The G-5 sought financial help from S Ranjan and K Meghachandra but both the MLAs not only turned down the requests but also started challenging the revolutionary movement, said a joint press release issued by the constituent parties of the G-5 .

In spite of the disdainful conduct of the two MLAs, the G-5 remained silent for one year.

However, even their PROs started speaking in a very disrespectful and insulting manner, it said.

The G-5 was of the view that the two MLAs should bear full responsibility for their own and their PROs' haughty attitude towards the revolutionary movement.

As first warnings, the G-5 set off a hand grenade at the residence of S Ranjan at Konthoujam Awang Leikai on August 28 followed by another hand grenade at the residence of K Meghachandra at Yairipok Bishnunaha on September 3, after ensuring that there would be no casualty, it said.

Saying that there was no unity among the MLAs when the State was facing possible annihilation following the May 3, 2023 aggression and they overlooked the people's suffering, the G-5 announced that it would start mounting strict vigil against all such insincere leaders.

As for the Sorojini Oil Pump owned by Thokchom Jadumani of Khangabok, the G-5 issued a press statement on January 27, 2026 whereby it was announced that the particular oil pump had been banned with effect from February 1, 2026 .

However, Jadumani has not corrected himself.

Instead, he has been challenging the G-5's prohibition, it said.

Claiming responsibility for the grenade blast at Sorojini Oil Pump, Wangbal on August 29, 2026, the G-5 announced that they would carry on further actions against Thokchom Jadumani.

The G-5 has also appealed to all people not to go to Sorojini Oil Pump for refuelling vehicles.

Conveying gratitude to all people who have made financial contributions to the revolutionary movement, the G-5 said that they never made unaffordable monetary demands to any contractor, businessman or private sector.

The G-5 further appealed to all people who have received its letters to cooperate in time.
